Description:
“Vigne Surrau” winery was born from a project presented at the Italian Pavilion on the occasion of the thirteenth exhibition of the Venice Architecture Biennale.
Surrounded by the vineyard, the winery is located on the Arzachena plain, on the road to the Costa Smeralda. The architectural structure is in perfect harmony with the surrounding uncontaminated landscape of Gallura, consisting of rolling hills where large green expanses draw a territory of rare beauty.
The winery consists of two floors, for a total of 2500 square meters. The local stone walls alternate with transparent facades, while the Cotto Possagno tiles complete the roofing that culminates with a glass skylight.
For the construction with a green perspective, environmentally friendly materials were chosen.
The Cotto Possagno bent tiles were chosen both for their perfect integration with the landscape and for their green characteristics. The terracotta, obtained from clay, is an ancient and natural material that, due to its properties, makes the roofing breathable.
